Have you ever found yourself in a need for some resources and needed it quickly? That was me a month ago when I was gearing up to showcase the 2016 Olympics in my class. Normally I would just talk about it and choose some reading books to read aloud with the class. However, this was my first time teaching in Australia and having school during the Olympics! (In the U.S. we are on our summer break when the summer Olympics roll around.) Luckily TWINKL was to the rescue!
What I Love About Twinkl
1. Easy Access
I love that it is so easy to just log online into my account and have a wide variety of resources at my finger tips! They also have very specific instructions to create certain products, which I found useful. (This was especially helpful when I created my Olympics banner.)
2. Wide Variety
I love the wide variety of resources for several different countries. I thought it was helpful that some resources come in different languages, just in case I had a student that needed other language materials or when I love pulling out my Spanish speaking skills with my kiddos!
3. Accommodates to My Different Classroom Levels
I have SO many different levels in my class that I often find it hard to meet all their needs. One of my goals this semester is to work on improving all of our reading levels. High Frequency Words of MANY levels have helped me out with all of my readers. I’m finding they’re not as reluctant as they used to be. I love that Twinkl gives me access to all levels!
4. Australian Curriculum
I started teaching in Australia last year and I had to spend a lot of time trying to understand the Australian curriculum and finding specific Australian resources. I didn’t know where to go for resources and there were no teacher stores in the small town I live in. I was quite happy to find that Twinkly provides these resources!
I love this little option, maybe it’s the creative designer in me! I always like resources that fit my personal taste in my classroom. If you’re not as knowledgeable in creating your own products, then I suggest you check out this area. (Look for the little pencil and “Create” button.) Check out my next Twinkl blog post as I’ll be showcasing this option in more depth as I create resources and displays for my classroom!
